IMPORTANT UPDATE!!

So, as promised, another update: we are delighted to report that we were successfully able to sail 3 times yesterday - Tuesday - with a group of lovely people from "Faversham Jaunts"
The weather was great, the water up to a level safe to sail and really starting to clear, the Kingfisher(s) were flying, the swans were showing off their cygnets, the geese their goslings - and the sun shone😀👍👏
So - whilst we will still check the water levels on Friday - we are planning to sail on Saturday 25th May at 11.00/13.00/15.00 and can be available - if anyone is interested - on Monday 27th May.
Please get in touch if you wish to book a place, pending confirmation on Friday.
Also please be aware that we have added a 'land-line' telephone number to make it easier for those without a mobile. It is 01795 662375

Thank you
Julie, Nigel and Nige

We also offer a 17-00 sailing from 1 July until 31 August but we do ask that you book your place on this sailing, in advance. This sailing will only run if we have bookings.

The River Stour rises near the village of Lenham, passing through rural landscapes and urban centres on its way to the English Channel at Pegwell Bay. The river’s lower reaches (downstream of Fordwich) are tidal. It has Kent’s second largest catchment area (after the River Medway).

This catchment is extremely diverse in its landscape. It encompasses large protected woodlands in the Blean and the wide open spaces of the Lower Stour Marshes. There are internationally important coastal habitats at Sandwich, Pegwell Bay, near Reculver and precious chalk downlands in the nationally protected Kent Downs. Extensive Forestry Commission woodlands and many historic sites and pretty villages all contribute to the character of this varied and beautiful part of England.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!

Unfortunately we have been to the boat this morning and we have found that the water levels are - again - dangerously low causing us to cancel today's sailings. Having sought advice we cannot expect any improvement tomorrow and have taken the decision to cancel our sailings for 31st March today, hopefully to give you time to re-organise something for tomorrow, I/we are really sorry to do this, but hope you understand that it is out of our control. Please be assured that we will honour the offer later in the year, should you still want to join us, when water levels are safer. Thank you and apologies again. Nige/Fordwich River Tours
